Community Service Ideas / From your Chatsworth Fulfillment House, River Plate
This page is brought to you by your friendly Southern California Fulfillment House, Riverplate. We have had the great good fortune to expand our business, so we just moved to a new larger facility. And we are now your Chatsworth Fulfillment and Trucking Facility .
One of the reasons we moved to a larger facility is because our clients are doing so well. And when our clients do well, we do well. Many of our customers have stores online, and we provide the fulfillment services for their inventory - pick and packing, custom assembly, shrink wrap service, and a lot more.
The owner of this Chatsworth Fulfillment and Trucking Facility, Daniela Rodriguez, is presenting you these pages in an effort to give back to the community that has given her so much. Daniela's journey of coming to place where she is running a successful Southern California Fulfillment and Trucking Facility can be read by jumping to the definition of courage page.
Reaching out in ways to benefit others is more than just a way to do something nice, it is a way to leave a legacy that teaches that life is really only worth living when you focus your attention on others.
For some, the idea of community service may just seem like a lot of work. It's not that they don't want to help; it's just that they feel they do not have the time. While this may appear a natural instinct for some, the art of engaging in community service can really be a lot of fun as well as being very rewarding. And the fact is, once you begin to take the focus off yourself, interesting opportunities will come to you that hours of work would not have yielded.
Community Service Ideas / Are You Ready to Serve?
For the owner of River Plate Fulfillment and Trucking, Daniela Rodriguez, providing community service is one of the most worthwhile missions that any business could have. She owns her own successful business and she is also well aware of the Universal law, 'you get what you give in this world.'
Types of Community Service
There are many types of community service that businesses can provide.
One way to give back is providing livelihood trainings or programs to the members of the community, so each member of the community is able to realize their respective potential.
Community Service Ideas / SBMA
An example of Livelihood Training is a program started by The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA). Their goal was introduce a series of training to help families that were hit hard by an economic downturn. In an effort to help the breadwinners regain their confidence and boost their family's morale SBMA reached out the community that surrounded them, and by extension, was one reason they were still in business.
As one of the leaders of the training series says, “Our target participants are workers and heads of families who have been displaced, or whose income have been severely reduced by the present economic slowdown. And we won’t be charging them for these. We just intend to help provide them with some new means of earning a living to cope with the crisis,”
The success of a business depends on the support it gathers from the community. So it is important to make the community feel like they are part of an extended family - like they matter. The community service activities the business partakes in do not serve as a promotion for the business, but mainly serve as a way to establish a respectful relationship between the community and the business.
Express Gratitude In Everything You Do
One great idea, of course, is to show appreciation. Convey your gratitude to the community in some way. You may volunteer for some community service events initiated by the community leaders. Joining your local Chamer of Commerce is another simple thing to do, and there are many opportunities to help others through organized events. By participating in these activities, you can also establish a network of contacts - contacts of like-minded people.
As a business owner you can also sponsor an event for the benefit of the members of the community. This is another way of extending your gratitude to the community that has supported your business. You could even single out a particularly challenged family. Many are too proud to ask for help, but if a hand is extended in an uplifting and gracious manner, this will create a positive ripple effect throughout the community and beyond.
Conclusion
These are just some of the most common community service ideas that you may want to consider if you are an entrepreneur. Bear in mind that running a business does not end in earning the profit that you need and want. What really counts in the end is service. A sincere and caring attitude should not end once you step outside the walls of your business. An open and grateful nature will only bring more of this positive energy back in your direction.
But participating in community service activities does only apply to business owners. Ordinary members of the community can also participate in a multi-sectoral efforts to uplift the community in which they reside, without leaving anyone behind. The main goal here is to inspire one another so everyone could achieve more and live better.
