If you were to ask what courage means to Daniela Rodriguez she might tell you it is the inner strength one uses to act in the face of adversity.

Daniela is the owner of River Plate Fullment and Trucking, and she is truly a shining example of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. She has built her trucking business from the ground up, and turned it into a profitable company, which has expanded to become a full service fulfillment house.


Definition of Courage / Resourceful

Daniela started her business as a matter of survival when her husband was involved in a serious car accident. With no time to feel sorry for herself or thoughts of how she was going to manage, she gathered her strength and optimism and got down to work.

Being a native of Argentina and also a proud Hispanic, Daniela was able to communicate her needs to the Spanish-speaking people that worked with her and for her in an effective way. This dynamic woman gained the respect of her crew immediately. She displayed a confidence and strength of character that makes her an ideal leader.

Definition of Courage / Optimistic

The world offers many obstacles to those that choose to step up and participate fully in life. And in the business world, competition and unforeseen challenges are at every turn.

Ms. Rodriquez understands these challenges and her remedy is to adopt an optimistic attitude. She explains, "I always see the glass half full, never half empty, and in life nothing comes easy if you want to be successful. I believe you never have to step back, always forward. And that, other than death, there is always a solution for everything if it is within you. Like my good right-hand and friend, Sandra said, 'it is what it is,' and we take a day at a day. I focus on the positive, never the negative."


Definition of Courage / Facing Adversity Head-On

On October 21, 2007 Daniela was tested. After 15 years of building River Plate Fulfillment and Trucking from the ground up, the entire business was destroyed in a fire. Her customers' entire inventory was gone, and her employees (who are like family) were out of work.

After the shock settled, Ms. Rodriguez dealt with the ordeal of sifting through the ashes, dealing with insurance companies, and breaking the news to her valued customers. Daniela would be the first to tell anyone that it was not easy, but here it is one and a half years later, and she just had the best year in her business' history.


Definition of Courage / Staying True

Daniela Rodriquez does not consider herself an innovator. She does consider herself as a person who goes after what she wants in a way that rings true to her high moral standards.

Her favorite quote is probably one you have all heard of, "If there's a will there is a way." In Spanish, "Querer es poder."

This is the wonderfully contradictory nature of life, it is simple yet so challenging.


Definition of Courage / Giving Back

In an effort to give back to the community in which she has thrived, Daniela, is looking toward speaking to future leaders of the Hispanic culture. That is why she is making herself available as a speaker to those who want to meet challenges and push past their fears.
