Fundraising For Adoption / Adopting Pets

There are many activities that can benefit your community. If you have sympathy for those homeless animals that have been abused and abandoned then you may want to think about fundraising efforts on their behalf. There are organizations and agencies who are involved in fundraising activities for animal shelters. These shelters can be a lifesaver for these homeless animals because they often provide food, medical services, and immunizations for those lost and abandoned animals.

There are many creative ideas for pet adoption fundraisers to help with the expenses and operating costs of these shelters. These fundraisers may not immediately provide loving families for these pets but they will give them much needed shelter and food until they find people willing to adopt them.

Walk-a-Thon.
Some of these fundraising ideas have been proven to succeed time after time. A walkathon is one such event. This event is an opportunity for the adoptive pets to walk with their owners and bring attention to their plight. Neighbors, friends, and family are asked to pledge a certain amount of money for distance traveled or time walked. Some sponsors simply donate a certain amount for support of the walkathon. The shelter benefits directly by events like these. The money these events raise can greatly help with the work of the shelter and the services they provide. The plight of the animals can often be highlighted also. This event can also be used to highlight the importance of neutering and spaying.

Dogwash.
Another pet fundraising idea is a dogwash. Owners can bring their pets and have them washed by volunteers for this event. This is easily done by asking people to bring large containers or wading pools that can easily accommodate medium sized dogs. There are many other benefits from pet fundraising events aside from the main benefit of raising funds for the shelter. These include moral support for the shelter and for the personnel who work there. The community can also be educated to the large number of pets that need the services of the shelter.
